Hi Dan! In your show you spoke about pushing your child on a swing during the pandemic and feeling absent. I recognize this feeling. It’s hard to be a parent to these amazing young people sometimes when it feels like the world around you is changing rapidly and you know the world they will know, and their children will know, will be massively different. I struggle myself with trying to not be consumed by the news sometimes. How do you stay present as a parent and how are you able to stay joyful and playful for your kids?
Hi Dan! Saw you play a church in Glasgow yesterday and, as always, it was a treat - moving and joyful and intimate. I wanted to ask about the "intimate" part, which can sometimes be used euphemistically! As far as I can tell, you sell out big theatres in Canada regularly, but it still feels like you're a well-kept secret in the UK. At the risk of making a case against us, what keeps you coming back? (PLEASE keep coming back!) I know not everything comes down to the bottom line, but touring abroad to smaller rooms than at home, while having to remain away from home and family... Is it worth it? Are we really that great!?
Hey Dan! As a non-native speaker of English I would really like to read the lyrics while listening to your new album. I guess they can be found in the cd booklet, but would you be able to post them somewhere online as well? I will buy the album at your concert in the Netherlands, but I like to come prepared! :-) Thanks!
Hi Dan! As I have been listening to your new beautiful record on repeat, one lyric for some reason always pops out at me and has me curious. What do you mean when you sing, "Feeling like a brick in Brooklyn?" My brain went to the Stonewall Riots, but I was so curious to know what made you write that lyric.
As a massive Frighted Rabbit fan, i wondered if there was anything else you could share about your relationship with FR/Scott's music and your process of writing 'In Your Corner'. I too loved the corner concept from 'the Woodpile', I suspect it is something that most who follow you and/or Frightened Rabbit can relate to.
Hi Dan! I’m digging this Reality Shield site. Lots of stuff on here which is great.
I was wondering as a songwriter, do you find you write your best songs when you have no deadline or when you do have a deadline? Have you experienced both and prefer one over the other?
We just saw you again last night in Portland and, like all of your shows for the past half-decade, you led the crowd in an intentional sing-along. When we first saw you at Mississippi Studios during a festival here in Portland back in 2011 and have a distinct memory of you stopping the crowd as we all sang along and said something like "I can handle the singing". I doubt you would remember that specific night 12 years ago, but we wondered if you had a change of heart about "crowd participation" over the years or if we simply witness some funky situation where the crowd was overpowering your vocals or the house sound was askew. Anyhoo - we all love to sign along to your cathartic tunes - so please do keep that part of your shtick.
Hey Dan, just saw you at the Fox in Vancouver, loved the show! I was struck by your guitar work and how great you are solo. Really beautiful, round chords and interesting voicings. How has your playing evolved over time? Cheers
Hey Dan. When you're writing music or lyrics, do pen and paper figure into your creative process? Do you type into phone, tablet or laptop? Or do you hear straight for an instrument? Thanks.
I've never seen you struggle to hit a note even when singing a cappella. Do you have perfect pitch?

Will there be a video of the magical sets you did at high park in Toronto?!
