Hi Dan, Thanks for your quintessentially Mangan-ish reply to my question. Amusing, insightful, deep without being pedantic. To be transparent, as a hobbyist songwriter, I was fishing for clues by asking you what bait YOU use. Finding lyrics is a grueling process, made harder by the occasional gift from the great whatever - no externalized whatever needed, but for me, the fact we can create anything at all is just a rather obvious consequence of being a tiny piece of an ongoing creative process (aka 'universe'?) with no fixed agenda or locus. It can be so damn hard - but I would guess that the big bang wasn't a picnic either. There's so much that is sleep-disturbing these days, it's hard to filter it down and make it more than an incoherent or maudlin rant or whimper or whine. Which is why I listen to you so avidly - you walk that tightrope between caring and freaking out so dang well. Cheers, from a limited meat-based data scraper.

Some of your lyrics hit me (many of us) so hard it brings me (us) to tears. Thanks for answering this question I didn't know I wanted answered.
I love all the insight into You Dan. Both the spiritual side and that I never imagined Tom Petty as an influence. I'll have to listen for it more.
