Hometown shows hit different. No doubt. This show was in a small venue and sold out in less than a minute. I’ve never gotten so many anxious DM’s about missing out on tickets.
I brought out some ancient and rare material - namely, the song Unnatural Progression from my first album, as well as an acoustic version of Lynchpin and a new unrecorded/unreleased song called For Him - it’s a bit like my own take on Dolly Parton’s classic Jolene.
I’m forever grateful to the city of Vancouver for being such a bedrock of support for all these years. Decades, now. It’s not perfect, but I love this city with all my heart.
This show was another in the “An Evening with Dan Mangan” series - just took requests and cracked jokes. Here’s what I ended up playing:
Just Know It
Cold In The Summer
Road Regrets
Lay Low
Tina’s Glorious Comeback
Jeopardy
Mouthpiece
In The Aeroplane Over The Sea
Easy
For Him
Pine for Cedars
Troubled Mind

So Much For Everyone
Below is a recording of the show (for paid subs only, I’m afraid):
