I’ve been at this a long time. My first EP came out 22 years ago. 7 studio albums, plus singles, covers compilations and soundtracks. Never, in all that time, have I experienced love for an album drop like I have with Natural Light. Every inbox I have is overflowing with thoughtful and articulate responses to this work.
At 42, after many ups and downs in the music industry, you have made me a mess of big emotions. I am so grateful that we did not f*ck this album up when we had the chance, and so grateful that it is resonating.
It seems like a trite response, but… thank you for listening. A circle completed. The fruition of it all.
To celebrate, I thought it’d be fun to hang with some of you on Zoom tomorrow. We can turn our cameras on. I’ll play a few songs from Natural Light, answer questions about the album, and we can discuss whatever you’d like to discuss.

Great news! CBC Music (aka Radio 2) has added Diminishing Returns to heavy rotation! The charting is based on voting, and it really would be something to see this song go straight to #1. Please consider giving Diminishing Returns a vote! I know it’s silly, but the internet is silly.
Speaking of CBC, my conversation with Tom Power on CBC Q will be airing on Monday, May 26th. I first met Tom over some moose sausage in St. John’s roughly 16 years ago (is that the most Canadian sentence I’ve ever written?).
I listen to Tom on the radio almost every morning, interviewing some of the world’s biggest stars - Adele, Harry Styles, Springsteen, Billy Eilish, Paul Simon, Bono - you name it… He is a beautiful human and so deeply talented at his job. It is always an honour to sit down with him.
