Hello love,

It’s Friday. Pajama day at my kids’ school. Last day before winter break. One of their classes was quiet and behaved enough times throughout the term to fill a jar full of marbles, which means they get to pretend they are camping today. He took a sleeping bag and a flashlight and a pillow and a stuffy to school with him. In all the madness, I am relieved to know that kids are still kids. What a gift.

Speaking of gifts, do you need a late game gift for someone this gift-giving season? Might I suggest gifting them the gift of a paid subscription to this here Reality Shield? Europe was simply amazing. Every show seemed to piggy-back and expand upon the love from the previous one. So many cities surprised us with their glow. I also ate a croissant at a hotel breakfast in Switzerland that, I think, may have permanently changed my life for the better.

Huge thank you to the European crowds, and to the new mailing list subscribers. I’m sorry that I badgered you into scanning the giant QR code, but not sorry that you are in the fold. It means so much to me that people allow my songs into their lore.

I am REALLY looking forward to these solo “An evening with Dan Mangan” shows in the new year. There are still some tickets left for NYC and LA. DC is a free show - more info on the website.

I wish you a Merry Christmas, or whatever it is that you celebrate or do not celebrate. I wish for you at least ten huge deep breaths per day. I wish for you quiet moments to yourself when you need them. I wish for you crows-feet faces, sounds and laughter with your loved ones. I wish for you to go easy on yourself. I wish for you to watch at least one ridiculous movie in the coming weeks.

I also wish for you to tell everyone you know about my new album Being Somewhere. It’s my best work yet. And I’ve got so much more to give. Some big tour announcements coming up.
