It’s 5:30am in Berlin. My first show with The Lumineers is this evening. My favourite thing about jet lag is that I can pretend I am a morning person for a day or two. My second favourite thing about jet lag is hitting the breakfast buffet at 6:30am and then again at 11am.

I’m in a bizarre “musician hotel” which is all too common in Berlin. It is somehow utterly ironic and earnest, retro and futuristic all at once. Take a look at this:

Anyhow, I worked with Flannel Foxes (an ethically-made, socially conscious Canadian brand) on this new crewneck sweater. They’re slightly on the spendy side ($90 CAD) but 100% of the profit goes to Obakki Foundation.

Let me tell you something about Obakki. Their founder Treana is as legit as it gets. This woman gets sh*t done. She started this journey by flying into South Sudan in the heart of the refugee crisis with a backpack full of USD cash and got half a dozen wells drilled in a week. She has since worked intensely with local communities in some of the most vulnerable parts of the world to drill more than 4,000 wells, helping more than four million people to have access to clean drinking water.

She has orchestrated streamlined and effective pipelines of support to communities affected by earthquakes in Turkey and Syria, as well as on-the-ground teams in Ukraine getting food and provisions to civilians most affected by the war.

I sleep better knowing this woman is doing the real work. She side steps red tape and creates meaningful relationships with real people on the ground. She listens to what THEY need, and then helps figure out solutions.

This sweater fits amazingly, is crazy soft and cozy on the inside and is ethically made in Canada, like all Flannel Foxes gear. AND we are only printing one small batch so they might go quick!

I am OVER THE MOON to play a handful of shows with The Lumineers starting tonight in Berlin. It’s so exciting to be invited into the real top tier of the touring world. Wish me luck!

The London show on the 13th is nearly sold out, and I’m thrilled to play my first ever solo shows in Cardiff and Bath just after.

I was also able to fit in a quick solo show in Kelowna, BC later this month at Red Bird Brewing. I’ll have the full band with me in this fall close by in Vernon, BC - but this should be a lovely intimate summer evening, with support from local Kentucky Eileen.
