I'm about to play a million shows

Hello Love,

Here's a picture of me wearing a seasonal sweater in front of my house that is definitely a real thing that exists. Happy holidays.

It's been a month and a bit since the world camped out overnight in front of their local record shops to stream my new album More or Less. I went to Europe, lost my voice, did some whisper-gigs, got my voice back, and now I'm back to wiping poop out of a toddler's butt. Turns out, it's still gross.

I try to keep up with messaging over Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. At times, it's overwhelming, and I don't like feeling glued to my phone, but I have to say, I've never felt more connected to people who listen to my music.

The messages I've received about More or Less have been simply sublime. I have come to believe that connection is the sole aim in life. Even love is just a window to feeling understood. I worked for years on these songs. When somebody comes at you with insights about your work that you haven't even considered yet, it's the ultimate cosmic high five. Suck it, existential dread.

So. Thanks. My heart is full.

I think way back in 2004, scientists discovered that asking the internet to vote for your thing is the lamest possible thing to do. So it would be pretty brutal of me to mention that voting for "Cold In The Summer" would help it get to #1 on the CBC. And thus, I refuse to do it.

We've announced another Europe tour this upcoming April! And also a big show in LONDON (a city in England) at the beautiful Union Chapel way off in October of 2019. So that's good. I'm also almost ready to announce some more touring in 2019 down in the United States of America (it's a country located in North America, just south of Canada). So that's also good. I like playing shows and I want to do it a frequently for a long time.

Christmas hint: concert tickets are good gifts for people who are humans.
